What i pack for an 11 night CARIBBEAN virgin voyage

Aruba - Eagle Beach - One stop on my recent Virgin Voyage

My realistic, no-nonsense packing list for Virgin Voyages – and what actually earns a place in my suitcase.

Packing for an 11-night cruise sounds straightforward until you’re actually standing over the suitcase, debating how many shirts you really need and how many tech chargers are too many. Add in Virgin Voyages’ themed evenings, long travel days, and my inability to fly long-haul without half a tech store in my backpack… and packing becomes a strategic operation.

If you’ve landed here because you’re Googling a Virgin Voyages packing list, here’s exactly what I’m taking – nothing theoretical, nothing “just in case”, just what I know I’ll use over a 14-night trip.

Clothing: Practical, Comfortable, and Cruise-Ready

Virgin Voyages leans relaxed and modern, so this is less “formal night wardrobe planning” and more “what will I actually wear on a warm-weather cruise?”.

my packing list

Bottoms

  • 3 pairs of chinos – ideal for themed evenings or dinner in The Wake or Extra Virgin.
  • 4 pairs of shorts – daytime, excursions, beach clubs… these get worn constantly.
  • 1 pair of jeans – mostly for airports or cooler nights.

Tops

  • 4–5 t-shirts – lightweight, easy to pair with shorts or chinos.
  • 3 shirts – enough variety for Virgin’s themed evenings without overpacking.

Don’t forget something Red for scarlet night!

Swimwear

  • 2 pairs of swimming trunks – one drying while the other’s being used. Essential when half the cruise is spent by the pool.

Footwear

  • Trainers – perfect for travel days and exploring ports.
  • Smart Timberland shoes – relaxed enough for VV, polished enough for dinner.
  • Flip flops – essential on any cruise packing list, Virgin Voyages included.

Accessories & Layers

  • 2 baseball caps – sun protection + bad-hair-day insurance.
  • Waterproof jacket – because Caribbean showers like to arrive uninvited.

Tech: My “Non-Negotiable” Packing Category

If you know me, you know the tech kit is practically a personality trait. And for long cruises, it genuinely adds to the experience – especially on sea days.

Entertainment & Work(ish) Setup

  • iPad with keyboard folio case – portable enough for travel, powerful enough for writing and editing photos.
  • Nintendo Switch 2 – ideal for sea days and airport lounges.
  • Kindle – nothing beats reading on the pool deck.

Connectivity & Convenience

Cables & Adaptors

  • Plenty of USB-C cables
  • US power cable for the Anker dock
  • US / EU travel adaptors – Virgin Voyages cabins have both, but it’s still nice having the flexibility

All of it lives in a dedicated organiser so I’m not unravelling spaghetti cables at 40,000 feet.

Toiletries & Health

Nothing groundbreaking, but always worth packing properly:

  • SPF 30 (normal + face cream)
  • After-sun
  • Deodorant & usual wash kit
  • Razor
  • Basic meds (paracetamol, ibuprofen, antihistamines)

Travel Day Kit

This is my little comfort pouch that lives in my backpack – and honestly, it’s what keeps me sane on long travel days.

  • Eye mask – I love the Manta Pro Sleep Mask as I am a side sleeper
  • Earplugs
  • Hand wipes
  • Hand sanitiser
  • Snacks
  • Power bank (as above)
  • Pen (immigration forms never fail to appear the one time you don’t pack one)

How It All Fits Together

I’m using the same system I always use: nothing fancy, just organised.

  • Packing cubes for clothes
  • Shoes + jeans in the suitcase’s lower compartment
  • Tech in my carry-on backpack
  • Toiletries in a leak-proof toiletries bag
  • Travel documents in my iPad case

One checked case + one backpack. Easy.

Final Thoughts

If you’re trying to figure out what to pack for Virgin Voyages, this is genuinely everything I’m taking – not a hypothetical list. It’s practical, ship-appropriate, and avoids the classic trap of overpacking for a cruise.

Virgin Voyages is relaxed, themed, and fun. You absolutely don’t need formal wear, you don’t need ten pairs of shoes, and you definitely don’t need a separate outfit for every single night.

But a well-curated mix of chinos, shirts, swimwear, and a strong tech setup?
That’s the sweet spot.
